Revenge of a Jilted Woman

Murder and mayhem took place at the Randleman House Sat night May 21. Dinner and entertainment were dished up for 20 Red Hat Ladies and they loved every bite!

The scene was set for a group of ladies who had all been wooed and jilted by the same man. Needless to say he was not a popular person and met an unfortunate demise. Who "done" it? We'll never tell. You will just have to attend your own mystery to learn the truth!

The May event this year will be a luncheon instead of a tea. We are hoping to encourage gentlemen to come to this tasty event as well as the ladies who have made our past events so successful. This luncheon is a tribute to some of Des Moines restaurant icons. Recipes from Younker's Tea Room, The Bishop Buffet and King's Food Host will be featured for this nostalgic event.

If you ate there as a youngster you will enjoy tasting those delightful treats again. Make reservations now!

Lincoln Dinner a Fabulous Success!

The April 9th Lincoln Dinner was a resounding success. Delicious, authentic food was offered to 21 guests, many of whom were dressed in period costume. The meal was presided over by an elegant Mary Todd Lincoln portrayed by Melissa Hawk and Stan DeHaan as President Abraham Lincoln. Guests were transported back 150 years in time. Wonderful pictures were taken by "Captured By Dani". Be sure to check out her Facebook page!

Our compliments and thanks to Josh Van Ryswyk for this historic dinner. He is an outstanding chef. Also kudos to Mary Sue for her culinary efforts and the organization and planning that went into this event. No one else could have pulled this off!

The house is looking beautiful thanks to Kathy F and D-I-L Lisa  F. They have done a wonderful job with the stairs and 2nd floor. Jen from Flowers Island brought centerpieces. Everyone pitched in to make the house glow! Wait staff was clad in period costume and aprons. Thanks so much to all the workers, servers, cleaners and photographers. It was truly a one of a kind event. Sorry you missed it?? You should be. Don't let the next one go by without attending!
